Birdhouse Clock

As part of my University course I had to come up with a design for a clock. We were given a wooden base as a starting point then told we could use anything we wanted to create the clock. I covered shapes with fabric and then layered all the pieces up. I then added two pompoms on string to the bottom so that it looked like pendulums. To finish the clock off I used mini buttons instead of numbers on the clock face.

I am really pleased with how my clock turned out and can't wait to put it on my wall :)

A very owl christmas

As everyone knows I have a slight obsession with owls. This christmas I received lots of owl related presents such as owl earnings, necklaces, sewing kits and this lovely owl bag.

This was probably one of my favourite christmas presents this year. I love the way the designer has used different scraps of fabric to create a feather effect. As I have lots of scraps of fabric left over from different projects I decided to use this bag as inspiration to recycle some of them. I created an owl teddy using the same idea of feathers and created a patchwork effect.

It was my friend Rachel's birthday when I made this and as she also has a love of owls I thought it would make the perfect present. I now intend to go on and make different animals using the same idea of recycling off cuts of material.
