It has been a while since my last post as I have been busy writing essays and preparing lessons. I did however have some time to be creative over the easter holidays. I spent a lot of time making new cushions and bag charms which I will post over the coming weeks. Until then here are some photos of some badges I have made.

As part of my University course I had to come up with a design for a clock. We were given a wooden base as a starting point then told we could use anything we wanted to create the clock. I covered shapes with fabric and then layered all the pieces up. I then added two pompoms on string to the bottom so that it looked like pendulums. To finish the clock off I used mini buttons instead of numbers on the clock face.
I am really pleased with how my clock turned out and can't wait to put it on my wall :)

As everyone knows I have a slight obsession with owls. This christmas I received lots of owl related presents such as owl earnings, necklaces, sewing kits and this lovely owl bag.
This was probably one of my favourite christmas presents this year. I love the way the designer has used different scraps of fabric to create a feather effect. As I have lots of scraps of fabric left over from different projects I decided to use this bag as inspiration to recycle some of them. I created an owl teddy using the same idea of feathers and created a patchwork effect.
It was my friend Rachel's birthday when I made this and as she also has a love of owls I thought it would make the perfect present. I now intend to go on and make different animals using the same idea of recycling off cuts of material.

I have recently started doing a PGCE in Design & Technology and this week was my first full week in University. Over the past two days we have been looking at design projects that we can do with Key Stage 3 children. The project we had today was to come up with a design to go on a mug. I decided to do a little bird :)

As I have only put up things I have made, I thought I would share some of the Graphic Design work that I have done. Below are two illustrations I created for university projects. The first one is an illustration for a fashion show where I had to make posters, banners and invites.
The second is a Illustration I created of a digital camera. We had to pick an everyday object then recreate it, as realistically as possible, out of simple shapes using Adobe Illustrator.

I seem to have a little bit of an obsession with owls at the moment and have now started to create owl badges. I have made them in many different colours but this is my favourite so far. I started making these badges as I had lots of scraps of fabric left over from making my cushions and thought I would put it to good use. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think :)
